ABOUT CLUB

Qala Saints Football Club, commonly known as Qala Saints, is a Maltese football club based in the village of Qala on the island of Gozo. Founded in 1968 and named after the village’s patron, Saint Joseph, the club’s traditional colors are maroon and light blue, earning them the nicknames “The Saints” and “The Maroons.” They play their home matches at the Gozo Stadium, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators.

Throughout their history, Qala Saints have achieved several honors in Gozitan football. Notably, in the 2007/2008 season, they secured both the G.F.A Cup and the Super Cup for the first time. They have also won the Second Division League on multiple occasions, including the 2021/2022 season, and the Second Division Knock-Out Cup twice.

In recent years, Qala Saints have been strong contenders in Gozitan football. During the 2023/2024 season, they won two major trophies: the GFA 1st Division Cup and the BOV GFA Cup, both times defeating their main rivals, Nadur Youngsters.

The club’s success continued into the 2024/2025 season, as they clinched the GFA Super Cup by once again overcoming Nadur Youngsters with a 2-1 victory. Christian Mercieca was instrumental in this match, scoring both goals for Qala Saints.

Qala Saints is currently leading the first division and it is one of the main contenders for the league.

Qala Saints is a prominent force in Gozitan football, with a dedicated fan base and a commitment to success on the field.
